Polar Explorer Icebreaker offers a truly unique Arctic adventure in Lapland, operating in the frozen waters of Bothnian Bay. Each winter, from late November to mid-April, visitors from all over the world have the chance to experience the magic of the frozen Arctic sea aboard this powerful icebreaking vessel.

The two- or three-hour cruise takes guests across the frozen sea, where the ship plows through ice, creating spectacular views and an unforgettable sense of Arctic wilderness. During the journey, guests can explore the entire ship, including the engine room, bridge, and decks, while learning about icebreaking technology and life in the far north.

One highlight is the ice swimming experience: participants step into floating survival suits and drift safely among the ice blocks – a once-in-a-lifetime thrill. The adventure continues with opportunities to walk on sea ice and enjoy warm drinks served onboard.

For the 2025–2026 season, Polar Explorer introduces two themed cruises: the “Dancing Queen” tribute to ABBA and the “Aurora Glow” evening cruise under the Northern Lights. These are more than cruises or adventures – they are full-scale events in Swedish Lapland, blending icebreaking excitement with music, lights, and Arctic magic.
